Find More Gold – Deeper and Faster!
The GPZ 19 Super-D coil has been designed by Minelab to maximise the performance of your GPZ 7000 and give a significant depth increase over the standard GPZ 14 coil.
Our field testers have spent several months carrying out significant testing so our Engineering team could deliver a superior accessory coil.
Check out what some of our expert field testers had to say about the GPZ 19:
“The GPZ 19 is deceptively stable and quiet… I recovered a 15 ounce nugget, really deep!”
“Working my way back up a creek, I found many ounces of weighty gold at incredible depths that had been totally ignored by a GPX with a 20 inch monoloop. I also missed these using the GPZ 14 coil – they were just too deep. The GPZ 19 is deceptively stable and quiet… I recovered a 15 ounce nugget, really deep!”
Jonathan Porter – Professional Gold Prospector, Australia
“ I just couldn’t believe how smooth it was running for such a big coil!”
“When using Normal Ground Type (in milder soils) I’ve actually been able to run a higher Sensitivity setting. I just couldn’t believe how smooth it was running for such a big coil, and I blooded the coil with its first piece after a short time, a very small flat piece of about 0.1g which proved that the big coil hasn’t given up much sensitivity.”
Nenad Lonic – Phase Technical Metal Detection & Technical Services, Australia
More Ground Coverage The GPZ 19 coil (19″ × 18″) has 53% more area than the GPZ 14 coil (14″ × 13″). It’s perfect for wide open spaces and covers more ground in less time!
Deeper Detection (average 30%*)
Larger coils typically detect deeper than smaller coils of the same configuration. Minelab field test results, in both low and high mineralised ground, using a range of natural gold nuggets, give an average 30%* detection depth increase when measuring performance of the extra large GPZ 19 coil compared to the standard GPZ 14 coil. With nugget sizes of 10g and below, the GPZ 7000 High Yield Gold Mode gave superior in-ground results. As the selected nugget size increased above 20g, switching into GPZ 7000 General Gold Mode provided an additional depth increase over High Yield.
* When compared to the average performance of the GPZ 7000 detector with GPZ 14 coil in typical environments. Actual performance depends upon prevailing conditions.
The information displayed in this diagram is a coil-for-coil comparison, is indicative only, and is based on the results of laboratory measurements and field testing undertaken by, and for, Minelab, using appropriate and identical detector settings. Please be aware that the depicted results give a relative and realistic comparison of the two GPZ coils for typical goldfields conditions for detecting the weight ranges of gold shown, but do not represent performance under all conditions, and should not be regarded as conclusive. Minelab does not warrant or represent that the performance levels depicted will always be achieved, as performance of the two coils will vary depending upon prevailing conditions. Relevant factors in detector plus coil performance include, but are not limited to, detector settings, ground type, mineralisation levels and type, electromagnetic interference, gold nugget size, shape and composition, and operator skill level.
Detector Depth & Coil Size Comparison
Detection depth and gold sensitivity depends upon the detector technology, the coil size and the configuration. Increasing the coil size on a GPX Series detector (from Commander 11″ to 15″×12″ to 18″) will give a measurable depth improvement. Increasing the coil size on a GPZ 7000 from GPZ 14 to GPZ 19 will also give a significant improvement.
* In iron mineralised ground, a GPZ 7000 detector with a GPZ 19 coil will achieve much better results than a GPX Series detector with any size Commander coil. In very salty ground the GPZ 14 coil may give better results than the GPZ 19 coil.
